Sara Kove leski Kraut, PT, DPT, nCS

Owner, Physical Therapist
Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist

Sara received her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Iowa and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science/The Chicago Medical School. She is the owner and director of Advanced Physical Therapy & Health Services (APTHS).  She is a board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).  She joined the faculty of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science in 2015 with an emphasis on clinical neuroscience. She currently specializes in the evaluation and treatment of neurological, orthopedic, and vestibular conditions, and has attended multiple continuing education courses in these areas.   Sara successfully completed the APTA Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency-Based Course chaired by Susan Herdman. She is also a certified Clinical Instructor through the APTA. Sara travels nationally for North American Seminars providing c ontinuing education courses to other physical and occupational  therapists, specifically for Pilates in Rehabilitation and the Evaluation and Treatment of Parkinson's Disease. She is a certified Pilates Instructor and received her Pilates training through From The Center Pilates Studio in Chicago with Patrick O'Brien. Sara is also an AFAA-certified Group Exercise Instructor and an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. She is a sports enthusiast and an avid runner, having run several marathons. Sara is also fluent in Spanish.  In her spare time, she enjoys having fun with her husband and 3 young children.

Laura sundquist, pt

Physical Therapist
Laura graduated from Marquette University in 1995 with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy. Her experience is diverse such that she has worked in many different settings. She has worked in skilled nursing, hospital based acute and rehab settings, home health and outpatient. Laura has significant experience with general medical, orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. She has taken multiple courses in these areas including those focusing on the geriatric patient  and courses through the Institute of Physical Art. Her experience includes teaching pre-natal and post natal exercises classes. She has also lectured on osteoporosis and taught osteoporosis exercise classes.  Laura enjoys spending her free time playing tennis and running after her two children.

Jennifer Marques, pt, MPT

Physical Therapist
Jennifer graduated from University of Notre Dame in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts and Letters degree in Economics.  After working in the investment industry, she made a career change to physical therapy and graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine with a Master of Physical Therapy degres in 1999.  Jennifer has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, acute care, physician's office, and home health care treating mainly adults and adolescents with oprthopedic, neurologic, and general medical diagnoses.  She has also taken additional continuing education courses focusing on Women's Health issues and has worked with individuals with incontinence, pelvic pain, post-breast cancer rehabilitation, and pre- and post-partum dysfunction.  Jennifer and her husband have 4 active children.  Her interests include spending time with her family, running, cooking, and reading.

Bret graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in News-Editorial Journalism.  He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2014 at the University of Illinois at Chicago including elective courses in sports physical therapy and pediatrics.  While in physical therapy school, Bret gained diverse experiences including treating patients with orthopedic, sports medicine, neurological and chronic pain diagnoses.  In addition to coursework and clinical rotations, Bret has a vast amount of shadowing experiences in orthopedics and sports physical therapy, including professional athletics.  He likes to stay up to date on the newest research in the field to bring an evidence-based approach to his physical therapy practice.  In his free time, Bret enjoys playing basketball, soccer and going to comedy s

John received his Bachelor of Physical Therapy in 2008 from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland.  He then completed a Master's degree in Clinical Neuroscience from King's College London.  John has worked in a variety of clinical settings including geriatric, stroke, respiratory, post-surgical, orthopedics, and workers compensation.  John has also published clinical research in the clinical areas of post-stroke fatigue and low back pain.  John is always keen to learn new physical therapy techniques to help his patients - he is recently certified in Dry Needling.  John is a strong advocate for his patients and always strives to not only rehabilitate the condition for which his patients are attending PT, but identify the source of the issue and give guidance on long-term management of the condition.  John has lived in Chicago since 2013 and loves everything the city has to offer. John is recently marries and enjoys his free time with his wife and their dog.

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist

Our massage therapist, Laura, has been practicing massage therapy since 2005. She graduated as class salutatorian and then obtained both her Illinois State and National license. Since that time, she has also maintained active membership with the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). She joined our team in 2011 and splits her time between here and the Five Seasons Sports Club in Northbrook where she has worked since 2007. Her specialty is in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, where she has advanced training and experience. She has completed more than 87 hours of continuing education in that area alone, as well as 2 plus years working alongside the leading Trigger Point therapists and educators in Chicago. Laura also has experience working in a variety of settings - a fully integrated chiropractic & functional medicine rehabilitation clinic, salon & spa, health club, corporations, and educational workshops - all of which combined allow her to accommodate a diverse people and conditions. Her passion is in rehabilitative massage and believes that massage is a powerful tool in helping people not only to relax, but also eliminate pain and restore function. She also enjoys taking classes in a variety of areas to keep her up to date on the latest research and techniques in the massage therapy field.

Michelle is currently getting her bachelor’s in Kinesiology and later hopes to go on to Physical Therapy school. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at Heartland animal shelter and playing water polo. Michelle is also fluent in Russian.  



Nicole SchoPP

Front Office / Physical Therapy Aide
Nicole graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She hopes to pursue a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and work with children.  Nicole enjoys working out, bike riding, and being outdoors.  In her free time, she loves playing with her dog and enjoys babysitting.  She recently became an indoor cycling instructor and teaches classes at a local gym.
