Sara Kove leski Kraut, PT, DPT, nCS

Owner, Physical Therapist
Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist
Sara received her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Iowa and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School (now Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science). She is the owner, founder, and director of Advanced Physical Therapy & Health Services (APTHS). She is a board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). She joined the faculty of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science in 2015 with an emphasis on clinical neurology. She currently specializes in the evaluation and treatment of neurological, orthopedic, and vestibular conditions, and has attended multiple continuing education courses in these areas.  Sara successfully completed the APTA Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency-Based Course chaired by Susan Herdman. She is also a credentialed Clinical Instructor through the APTA. Sara travels nationally for North American Seminars providing continuing education courses and having educated thousands of physical and occupational therapists over the past 15 years, specifically for Pilates in Rehabilitation and the Evaluation and Treatment of Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Peripheral Neuropathy. She is a certified Pilates Instructor, an AFAA-certified Group Exercise Instructor, and an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. She is an active member of the APTA (Private Practice Section) and Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA), as well as currently serves on the board as Secretary of the IPTA’s Illinois Network of Independent Physical Therapists. She also served on the ACAPT Student National Honor Society Task Force, helping develop the first national honor society for PT students. Sara is a sports enthusiast, an avid exerciser, and has run several marathons. She is also fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys having fun with her husband, three children, and Goldendoodle, Peppermint, and continues to teach community-based fitness classes.





Cassandra Nelson, pt, DPT

Physical Therapist
Cassie graduated from Augustana College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and minors in Sociology and Spanish. She went on to attend Rosalind Franklin University where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. In her academic career, Cassie has discovered interests in manual therapy techniques, sports medicine, aquatic physical therapy, and promoting health and fitness to members of the community. She endeavors to individualize her intervention strategies to best fit the unique goals of her patients by remaining up to date on evolving therapy methods and constructing effective and energetic treatment sessions. In her spare time, she enjoys reading fantasy/science fiction novels and improving her skills as a runner.





James BaBana, pt, DPT

Physical Therapist
James began his professional career as a licensed massage therapist in 2008, and soon after discovered the world of physical therapy where he could continue developing his skill set. From there he chose to complete his B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago to develop a strong foundation in the human movement sciences. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he participated as a class leader and strong supporter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) snf Illinois Chapter (IPTA) as a class representative and president for the state student special interest group. Through a collaborative alliance, James works to optimize each individual's mobility and return them to their best possible level of independence. He combines his traditional knowledge of Physical and Massage Therapy with his unique background in meditation to also support his patients' mental and emotional well-being. Having received extensive mentorship throughout his career from many individuals, James is a strong advocate for reinvesting in youth and young adults to guide them along their professional path.





Laura rodrigo, lmt

Massage Therapist
Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist
Our massage therapist, Laura, has been practicing massage therapy since 2005. She graduated as class salutatorian and then obtained both her Illinois State and National license. Since that time, she has also maintained active membership with the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). She joined our team in 2011 and splits her time between here and the Five Seasons Sports Club in Northbrook where she has worked since 2007. Her specialty is in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, where she has advanced training and experience. She has completed more than 87 hours of continuing education in that area alone, as well as 2 plus years working alongside the leading Trigger Point therapists and educators in Chicago. Laura also has experience working in a variety of settings - a fully integrated chiropractic & functional medicine rehabilitation clinic, salon & spa, health club, corporations, and educational workshops - all of which combined allow her to accommodate a diverse people and conditions. Her passion is in rehabilitative massage and believes that massage is a powerful tool in helping people not only to relax, but also eliminate pain and restore function. She also enjoys taking classes in a variety of areas to keep her up to date on the latest research and techniques in the massage therapy field.







Front Office / Physical Therapy Aide

Heidi has a business management background where she worked in the field for over 25 years. She enjoys volunteering and helping the community where she has worked on many projects at her children’s schools and local organizations. Prior to moving to Park Ridge, she lived in San Diego. She also had the opportunity with her husband’s job to live in Hong Kong for a few years. Heidi and her husband have two children and a lab named Molly.














Vanita Chambers

Front Office / Physical Therapy Aide

Vanita has an extensive background working in  medical offices. She worked for the State of Illinios for over eight years as a Health Care Advocate. Vanita also studied Business Management at the University of Michigan. Originally from Alabama, she relocated to Chicago after her two sons left for college. She enjoys volunteering and helping seniors and poeple with disabilities find resources to enhance their quality of life. In her downtime, she loves music, theatre, and the great outdoors.
